Join us for a hands-on on pottery workshop in our lovely home studio in te miro, 15 mins from Cambridge town.
You will be shown techniques to make some amazing pieces!

FAIRY HOUSE + MORE Workshop 
 
SAT 18th Oct 9.30am 2.5 hours + tidy up 
TUE 28th Oct 6.00pm 1.5 hours
 
This is a really cool and involved 2part workshop to create your own Fairy House + accessories!  
 
Part 1
You'll be provided with a wheel thrown vessel, pre-made by Samara to use as the body of your piece and guided through altering and adding texture, decorative items and getting creative. You'll also use molds to create the roof of your piece in your chosen style.
 
Part 2
After your piece has been carefully dried and had its first (bisque) firing, you'll return to glaze. Helen will run you through your options and how to apply glazes.
 
Your pieces will be fired in the next 2weeks and ready for collection
 
You can make;
Fairy House (approx 15-18cm tall depending on style)
Accessories like pumpkins, flowers, mushrooms + more

Toasty buff clay will be used
 
BYO wine for funtimes + relaxation
Access to the cookie jar and hot drinks
 
Please note that our workshops are slightly flexible, so if your heart goes in another direction using the same technique we will do our best to guide you along the way. Our workshops are small groups of only 8 or less so you will have personalised assistance + guidance.

Your pieces will be slowly dried, fired, glazed in your choice (of 3) glazes and available for collection 4-6 weeks post workshop
*non refundable unless we can fill your space; you can transfer to a friend if unable to make it. however if you have an emergency, please contact us at samara@thepiedpotter.co.nz so we can try to refill your spot; this is not usually possible within 48hours of event.
*under 15 must book alongside an adult
*8 people max. reserve the right to cancel (and refund) or reschedule if numbers aren't reached
*clay, glaze + firings included
*feel free to bring a beverage of any sort, glassware available
*pottery can be very humbling. we will do our best to repair any small cracks. breakages and large cracks can occur due to learning and are part of the process. in the case of any kiln issue or error with glazing/handling you will be offered a chance to come out and remake your piece.
