Pottery Workshop - the flutter platter
Join us for a hands-on on pottery workshop in our lovely home studio in te miro, 15 mins from Cambridge town.
You will be shown techniques to make some amazing pieces!
MON 11MAR March - 6.30pm, 2hours + tidy up
*please note! these items will be ready/fired in mid April, no earlier*
This is an awesome workshop - we will use slab technique to create items a really special, one off + unique platter
You'll learn how to treat clay sooo nicely to give you the best chance at success with such a large item.
You'll roll out, shape and polish your platter (approx 34cm long, once fired)
You may also have time to make a ramekin or two x
Perfect items to add to the kitchen for summer hosting!
Grey speckled clay will be used for this workshop

Please note that our workshops are slightly flexible, so if your heart goes in another direction using the same technique we will do our best to guide you along the way. Our workshops are small groups of only 8 or less so you will have personalised assistance + guidance.

We are located near the end of Flume Road, te Miro
Your pieces will be slowly dried, fired, glazed in your choice (of 3) glazes and available for collection 4-6 weeks post workshop
*non refundable unless we can fill your space; you can transfer to a friend if unable to make it. however if you have an emergency, please contact us at samara@thepiedpotter.co.nz so we can try to refill your spot; this is not usually possible within 48hours of event.

*clay, glaze + firings included
*feel free to bring a beverage of any sort, glassware available
*pottery can be very humbling. we will do our best to repair any small cracks. breakages and large cracks can occur due to learning and are part of the process. in the case of any kiln issue or error with glazing/handling you will be offered a chance to come out and remake your piece.
